Bios setting for more graphic ram?

Postby john9811 » Tue Oct 14, 2008 8:19 am

Anyone tried tweaking the bios to increase the graphical ram allocated yet?

There isn't much in the line of options in the BIOS. I'm not sure why this is. Maybe Lenovo doesn't want users tweaking their default setup for the S10.

Ouch...i was thinking to use this for some moderate gaming lolz. I surely hope that lenovo releases a new bios like msi did..

First thing I did when I got my S10 was to look through the BIOS setttings for a way to increase video RAM. No Luck! Probably the most minimal BIOS settings I have ever seen on a computer! Pray for BIOS update!!! :)

I'm not convinced that Intel950 built in graphics would be able to make much noticable use of more than 64MB of shared memory. What game(s) are you trying to play that are too slow?

this is what ive learned so far, Dynamic Video Memory Technology (DVMT)

http://support.intel.com/support/graphi ... 010488.htm

it turns out that the amount of vram on your gma950 is depenant of the amount of total ram, and the current application. IE if you have 1gb mem your max is 128mb and a 2gb system will have 224mb. but if you just surfing your vram will be low 8mb on mine as i type this!
