onekey recovery and new hd ?

Spent a few hours building partitions and copying them over, found the proper way to copy the hidden partition, tried copying the mbr, and still nothing new to report- no boot off the hidden recovery partition.
I am NOT done yet. But if I dont stop now I will probably loose it

Good luck, and kudos for your energy level... I, for one, gave up once linux dd didn't do it. :p

I've successfully upgraded my S10 from the 80GB drive to 250GB. Here's the equipments you'll need:
1. External USB DVD drive, or DVD drive with an IDE-USB adaptor
2. SATA-USB adaptor
3. Partition tool (download free)

Here're the steps:
1. Run OneKey application and select the full backup option to produce a bunch of restoration files on D: (defualt path)
2. Download EASEUS Partition Master (free software) from download.com, run it, and make a note of the exact size of C:. Mine is 30161MB.
3. Connect an external USB DVD drive and use OneKey application to copy restoration files to DVDs. I used an IDE adaptor and an old DVD drive for this purpose.
4. Write the C: partition info on the first DVD. The DVD is bootable, but is useless unless the exact partition exist on the new HD.
5. Connect the new HD to the Ideapad with an SATA-USB adaptor
6. Use EASEUS to partition the new HD. The first partion has to be the exact replicate of the old C:
7. Also create D:. This can be any size.
8. Use EASEUS to copy C: and D:, and optionally the hidden partition (not sure if it will work though)
9. Power down and replace the HD
10. If boots into windows, you're done. If not, don't worry, continue to the next step
11. Connect the DVD drive and insert DVD #1 and reboot. You may need to change the boot sequence so that the USB DVD is the first boot device
12. Follow direction and restore C:

After much trouble and hair-pulling I have finally made a solution for repairing the OneKey Recovery Button and partition (think old-school IBM HPA guys and gals)! This utility will allow you to create a bootable USB key, once the key is created just insert it into your ideapad and boot from it (Power-on, press F12 and select USB key). After it boots into DOS just type "setup" and press enter. After the update completes shutdown the system, remove the USB key and enjoy your OneKey Recovery button again

A few notes:

1) For this tool to work correctly you must have the original recovery partition on your drive (can be ghost copy for those that installed an upgrade drive and copied all partitions to their new drive).

2) If you have your recovery partition id set to anything other than "12" please change it back to "12" otherwise the button will not work. You can use many tools to do this, but the most popular (and free) is "PTEDIT32.EXE", just Google it to find a copy.

3) I have also included a tool to delete the OneKey Recovery partition and the HPA data (USE WITH CAUTION!). To delete the OneKey Recovery partition just type "delete" and press enter.

4) I take no responsibility for any data loss or damage that may occur while using this utility.

5) You may pass this utility to anyone that you wish, however you MUST provide it as freeware and not charge a fee of any kind! I don't want anyone profiting in any way from this utility or its use.

Do it all over again from the beginning. I had the same problem for some reason. I tried it again and it worked the second time around.

Just a note to say thanks, the OKRFIX works wonderfully!
Moving on to explore replacing the factory-setting image to one that is updated with fixes, updates and personalised applications so that OKR will reset to a beef-up XP rather than a outdated version.
