The S netbook is NOT an Apple product and was never intended to run Mac OSX. Fortunately, enthusiasts have found ways to make OSX run on our netbook. However, the process may not be smooth for some. Make sure you have patience and time to get it to run. Most importantly, motivation to read and learn. This forum contains enough information to get OSX running. Most problems you may encounter can be solved just by reading through the forums or searching. So please take the time and read through the forums!

Note to malibujack:

Did you ever get your Revo to update? I used the S10 patch to install 10.6.3 on the Revo and it's very stable, but I can't get it to update to the Combo 10.6.8 using your instructions here either. Did you ever get a fix?

Resize your Lion partition, create a new partition, install Snow Leopard or Leopard, and voilà !

just wanted to tell you that i got rid of voodoopowermini, sleepenabler and _nullpowercpumanagement enabling native appleintelcpupowermanagement kext from apple on 10.6.8. To do so, I used the patched atom kernel for 10.6.8 from The King on projectosx.org (not the nawcom kernel), removed _nullpowercpumanagement and replaced _27aeAppleintelintegratedframebuffer (from s10 enabler), with the one (patched for 27ae) from 10.5.5 (else i get a fuzzy screen).

Of course sleep works fine but i need to use lidsleep to sleep closing the lid
;
Also, this added me dual screen support in mirror mode and not only extended.

Something that should be added in a future S10 Enabler.
OSX 10.6.8 with WLAN, WWAN, LAN, AppleHDA :)

you did ever hear of the phrase "overkill", did ya?

but yes, that way would work. but no way i would do that. it would be easier to adjust the installer than doing that. plus, adjusting the installer would help everybody out there with lion.

Here a working step-by-step-list for S10-2:

1. Load 10.6.8 Combo Update from Website, load Enabler 1.1.17, load Kexthelper b7, load OSX86Tools (search for them), load _DisableSleep.kext http://s10lenovo.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3622
2. Execute Update => don't restart, minimize to dock
3. Execute Enabler 1.1.17 => don't restart, minimize to dock
4. System/Library/Extensions: Delete _Sleepenabler.kext
5. Execute Kexthelper b7, drag _DisableSleep.kext into it, run it, finish program => it hangs => keep it hanging
6. Drag Extra/com.Apple.boot.plist to desktop => open, in line "…i386" add " pmVersion=23" behind it => save => copy back to /Extra => identify
7. Open OSX86Tools => Clear all caches (check all boxes in the middle left but the first, check the first box in the middle right) => run => finish
8. CMD - ALT - ESC => finish kext helper now => click on restart on one or both of the installs (Enabler and / or Combo Update)
9. Be happy!

Klaus Thanks a lot
I confirm , this works perfect with lenovo S10-2
I do just a little change
Enabler 1.18
and i don't use de _DisableSleep.kext steps 5/8 because i use the insomnia software.

But all works !!!
Thanks a lot
