yeh the 5100 only has 2 antennas which is probably why I "only" get like ~50mbits of transfer speed with my netgear wndr 3700 router...

I removed the whitelist to get a different 3G card to work
http://blog.oeschey.de/2010/05/lenovo-s ... bios-hack/

that works good. Keep in mind, that the 2nd PCIe slot (the one I soldered on) is not a real PCIe slot, theres just the USB portion usable. So real PCI cards have to go into the slot where the WLAN card is.
I couldn't verify if the BIOS hack also removes the whitelist from the right slot, because I have no other WLAN card, but since the 3G card works I guess the whitelist is completely removed.

Unfortunately, it will not work.

In this link: http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin/issues/detail?id=85 at the bottom of this page there a driver for Intel 5100 on MacOS which was released today. I'll install it when I receive my card and I'll post the results.

Can anybody try it??
I think now that it worth installing it, now that it's working on Mac for users that use it.

I have found an Intel 5100 which was pulled out from a Lenovo Thinkpad R400, does anybody know if it will work? It is model 512AN_MMW but without FRU number.

I bought the Broadcom a/b/g/n wireless card from Ebay for about $18, I installed it on my S10-2. I booted into MacOSX and it founds the card immediately and connected to my home wireless network, so did in Windows 7 without any problem. So, forget the Intel 5100 and install the Broadcom BCM94321MC which also have the Draft-N protocol and on MacOSX it installs as Airport card.
