10.5.8, s-10, video only 800x600

I am VERY new at this, had it up for about 1 hr now, and I still get no other resolution other than 800x600. I installed all the relevant kexts I could find,but no luck. Anybody know a good one or where? Wifi is up and so is sound. have not tried sleep as of yet..not sure how totest it either....

If you go with Snow Leopard, you can just use the Enabler which will take care of it.

well, I tried one of the updates, and voila, I can use my external and change to all usable resolutions.
Downside?

My S10's LCD display f looks like it is doing a color test(different color formations) and OSX does not seem to recognize it in display preferences(No internal LCD, just the Dell monitor). I set it back to 800x600/thousands and rebooted. Still no working internal video.
Connect external monitor & beautiful video. What do I need to do to fix this?? All effort appreciated. THANKS!!!

FIXED....

used the 0x27e.zip, deleted all the display drivers in the /Extensions folder, ran OSX86 Tools, cleared Ext cache, and rebooted and it worked. After opening Display preferences, I did a detect display, and did some unplug/plug of the VGA for external (3x's) and it all works. Thank to this forum and the 15 threads I have read. Much appreciated all!

I'm having similar problems after upgrading to 10.5.8. I'm working with the MSI install, and have tried various kexts, none of which have worked. I've fought unsuccessfully with SwitchResX and osx86tools. The only video available in Display Preferences is still 800x600, and I can't figure this out.

Help! (and thanks to everyone who's posted such great, helpful hints.)
