S12 OSX Expericence?

Hi,

i would like to ask if there are some People in the Board that have experiences with the S12 running OSX. I have installed 10.5.7 via iDeneb and it runs quite good, i could say not worse like on my S10.

What works is Video with Quartz, Audio out via VoodoHDA (Speaker + Headphone), Webcam, WLan, Touchpad (ALPS) without FFScroll, Bluetooth (not on Boot, but after sleep...), Sleep via VoodoPower after manually disabling WLan and Bluetooth.

Does anybody have experiences with Sleep?

Any Tipps which kexts you used?

You managed to get ideneb 10.5.7 on s10 without issue? I have tried numerous times but failed to get it working properly. Main issue is with the display. When you be able to share on what you have done?

A lot of sleepless nights...

I used Dell EFI and Retail disk install. Upgraded to 10.5.8 using combo. 10.5.7 combo also works.

No audi out or in. No LAN ethernet. WiFi and Bluetooth work. Not sure yet about cams and others. Touchpad I have not yet got going.

What kext package did you use to get audio and touchpad actually working?

Is there anybody who successfully installed Leopard or Snow Leopard on S12?

I´m trying to install with Netbootmaker-method and with Leopard-Enabler, but everytime the installation-process freezes when copying the files to hdd.

Hi,

i'm typing this on a mainly working s12 snow leopard install. I had the same issues as you describe, no matter wether i tried the netbookinstaller or the 1.0.15 snow leopard enabler by vaniii. After the "normal" installation startes i had a Kernel Panic.

I then tried a method posted in the mydell forums which suggests to install on a "genuine" mac. So i installed on a white MacBook on the Harddisk of my Lenovo which i connected via USB.Before booting i ran netbookbootmaker and so far anything works.

What doesnt work is the touchpad (no clicking) and sleep. But boot and shutdown is very fast compared to 10.5.8 so i dont care at the moment.

Hi all friends of the S12,

what i found out today is that i cant manage to get QE/CI working again. It was a big thing getting it to work in 10.5.8 but also the kexts that worked there dont fix it.

Does anybody have kexts for the GMA950 with acceleration?

Isn't the S12 supposed to have NVidia graphics?

Hello vaniii,

no it isnt. There are 2 different models. One with Intel Atom, GMA950... and one with Nvidia ION...

For the Moment i have to say the S12 does not work under Snow Leopard for me now, i will try it with you Enabler again maybe tomorrow. At the moment i get KPs all the time and the Graphic-Performance is really bad. I don't know why it is that way, as the Hardware-Difference between the S10 and the S12 is IMHO minimal...?
