Lots of harddrive activity

Anyone else experiencing lots of harddrive activity even when their s10 is idle under windows 7? Is this harddrive indexing or maybe prefetch at work?? It seems to happen even more when the PC is idle..which makes me think it's indexing of some sort. Haven't tried turning it off yet, although I may have to in order to test the theory.

So i turned off system restore and that didn't seem to have any affect on the harddrive activity when idle. I'm going to work some more with it and see if i can figure out what causes this. I think it's only noticeable because the fan is on it's highest level during this activity..so it must generate enough heat or cpu activity to turn the fan on.

Haven't had a chance yet to turn off the indexing on the drive....are others noticing this as well?? it could very well be normal and subside as the os finally ends up indexing everything. It doesn't seem to affect performance cause any other issues..but it's rather annoying to have your system idle, with it's display off and have the hdd activity light blinking up a storm and causing the fan to run non-stop.

Its the SAMe Problem in Vista... Its the new Windows Indexing that enables fast searching when hitting the windows icon and when you type something in...
Here's the solution

1) Press the Windows Icon
2) In the search bar (how ironic, right ) type in "indexing options", hit enter
3) Modify the Locations where you actually use the search (For me its just "Start Menu" and "Contacts") It comes with the searching the whole Netbook by default!

Should be it, if not!, try selecting no Location at all, and stop ur AV-Application and see if that helps...
