It is definitely worth to mention that proprietary WiFi drivers in 8.10 do not work correctly. Actually they do, but only in WEP or WPA2 modes. I still unable to connect to some points if both WPA and WPA2 are enabled on them. There is no such issue neither in Windows nor MacOSX. So if you don't plan to investigate this topic within your FAQ, just mention possible isuue ;)

Hi, for now, I updated the networking section of the page. If you find a fix, please post something in this thread, or update the page.
Thank You,

Hi, thanks to whoever tested the webcam with cheese, keys, and bluetooth : )

There is a lot of infomation in several threads, but I think that creating a State of the Ubuntu one-stop will help people get going faster because they aren't re-researching the wheel.

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and I just ordered my S10 (will get it by next week I hope).
But I'm not new to Ubuntu or its forums, and will gladly help anyone here.
I can also help with the WIKI page if needed.

Hi.

In the german ubuntu wiki http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/IBM_ACPI i found information about an ibm-acpi driver packed.
This should enable people to get the Fn Hotkeys running in Linux.

Right now, i don't have ubuntu on my lenovo, because i need XP for a work project.

But maybe someone can check this.

The German site looks like it has a lot of information, but is it more Thinkpad oriented?

I did some more work on the Wiki. Adding Netbook Remix was a great idea, but I changed the download link to where the reader can find an .iso. so that it will work with the instructions. I'm going to try NR tomorrow.

Also perhaps presumptuous, I tried reworked the beginning of page to remove redundant instructions, and tried to make the headings more uniform, but I wanted to make what I did appear like what came above, and visa versa.

I hope everyone is happy with its direction, and thank you to everyone who added information, which it could use more.

Yes, it is thinkpad orienteed. But as much as i know, the thinkpads have all this novo button. And they are from lenovo too. Or at least the newer are.
And the ThinkVantage Driver Tool, original for the Thinkpads works fine on our s10e (can't speak for the s10=

So there is a good change, that the ibm-acpi/thinkpad-acpi works.

As i depeend on a working netbook for the next two weeks, i can't test it right know. But i will, as soon as my project is over.

I added some more notes about ubuntu Netbook Remix.
Because there are now multiple ways to install Ubuntu, and with the addition of UNR, I removed the rest of the redundant booting instructions for readability.

Are there any more hardware and optimization issues anyone can add?
