Ball of death before Disky Utility on initial install

Postby kcm558 » Wed Jan 21, 2009 8:09 pm

It seems to successfully boot using the usb drive method, with restored install discs on the usb drive. But before I get to the Disk Utility, or any dialogue boxes, my s10 hangs with the beach ball of death. (It boots ups with the gray apple, and I get the space background, but it hangs right after that instantly)

Anyone run into this? I'm using external usb, with disc image & chameleon on an hfs partition, but I still have my XP partition on the lenovo, could this be preventing the install from moving on?

I would use the MSI Wind installer. All the others that I tried would crash.

thx

I opted for a usb hd install, and got the retail leo on vanilla kernel to work... I had to boot with boot 132, then install from usb hd (restored leo image).. strange, but it worked.
