Extra Splashtop settings, including 1024x600

Postby nkls » Thu May 28, 2009 6:23 pm

I've been playing around with Splashtop for a while now and found out how to make the S10 use its full 1024x600 screen resolution instead of the elongated 1024x576 that most versions of Splashtop uses by default. The key is a file called va-915resolution.sqx, that comes with some versions of splashtop. The attached one is from version 1.0.16.3.

To actually change the resolution and activate the .sqx file above you also need another file, bs-config-extended.sqx that I've made. This file "unlocks" some extra settings in Splashtop, among them the ability to move the dock to the side of the screen, and change the resolution to something else than 1024x576.

To install, just put the two files in the C:\QSTART.SYS\ folder. (It might be a different drive letter than C depending on where you installed Splashtop, or what OS you are using etc.)

To activate 1024x600 you have to select it in the Screen settings in Splashtop.

If you do not want to change the resolution but still want the extra settings, just use the bs-config-extended.sqx file and it should work.

Enjoy your new non-blurry Splashtop! ;)

This works quite well, thanks.

Also, I love the extra settings for scrolling the launch bar.

Probably won't work with newer versions of Splashtop, and as I don't even have ST installed anymore I won't make any further investigations on how to improve the system. :)

Imo Splashtop is too slow and ugly to be worth the hassle, and having one OS up and running all the time works much much better.
