Installed ubuntu 5 minutes ago

OK sorry if this is a horribly stupid question, but I am computerally retarded. I am running ubuntu via wubi, not ubuntu remix for netbooks. was this a mistake, or is that version simply easier to install? Can this version work on a netbook exactly the same as the remix once it is installed? Already having trouble adjusting this screen resolution, but am too stupid to figure out if it is because of me or the version I have.

I've not heard of this before... looks pretty cool. I don't know how much of Ubuntu they have modified, their site says it's a full install, but tricks the computer into doing it in a file rather than a partition of the hard-drive.

I struggled to get normal Ubuntu to recognise the size of my screen when I tried to use it instead of the netbook remix. Maybe it's that you are having problems with... I would try searching http://ubuntuforums.org/ for some help; it's normally pretty comprehensive.

You could also try to run Ubuntu as a live USB (where you run it from the USB key not the HDD) to see if you can fix the problem in that environment. If you can then it's the wubi installation process that's broken something, but I doubt it.
