Crashed, Fixed Disk Errors now Disk Won't Mount

Postby erichazann » Sun Nov 27, 2011 6:55 pm

Hi all. I had a s10 running enabler 1.1.17 and SL 10.6. The person who was using said all they did was shut it down while a YouTube video was playing and then it would not boot up again.

It was hanging on the grey apple screen with just the spinning pinwheel. So I booted up from the USB install medium and ran disk utility, which found "keys out of order" errors and repaired them, then found "invalid sibling link" and could never repair the error. Now, it can't even mount the startup disk. :(

I originally was going to do the dual-boot mac/win 7 thing and this machine is set up with two partitions, a mac and windows one.. but there is nothing on the windows partition. (I used the instructions posted here.)

Should I reinstall the enabled SL on to win partition and hope that I can mount the old mac partition to get files off?

Is there anyway to run diskwarrior on the S10? I assume I can't just boot of an external CD with DW bc it won't be an enabled system.

PLEASE help. I just want to get the files off at this point.

TIA!
