i just followed the instructions, and now i get a panic screen at each start up, last console line displays system uptime.. :(

edit: started in recovery=y mode and re-did the update but no luck, still getting panic screen. I'm going to re-run nbi... and then retry replacing the appleintelintegratedframedbuffer.kext

edit2: no good, i dont know how im going to fix this lol

i did a complete reinstall--edited the notebookinstaller so that it would install the s10 drivers to the /Extra/S10Ext/, ran the update extra, and i keep getting the panic screen. im trying kexthelper now (it freezes after installing the kext, but i think thats kexthelper and 10.6.3) now im restarting... lets see how it goes

edit: still no good, resume from sleep leaves screen backlight off. :( im going to double check that the file inside /System/Library/Extensions/ says 1006.0.0 or something else

edit2: the file inside /system/library/extensions/ does infact say 1006.0.0, but no good :(

edit3: edited another line in the appleintegrated...kext, testing now.... no luck... :(

is it supposed to overwrite the /system/library/extensions file when you run updateextra?

im going into recovery again and re-running nbi. then i'll try again i guess, with your same nbi settings..

still no good... i guess i'll wait until someone else finds a fix :(

i believe the kernal panic is caused by "panic(cpu 0 caller 0x2f7dd8ac): "Unsupported CPU: family = 0x6, model = 0x1c, stepping = 0x2"@/SourceCacheAppleIntelCPUPowerManagement/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement-104.3/pmProcessor.c:210"

i'm using the nbi guide that silverzero wrote... following the exact instructions.

I actually go from 10.6.0 straight to 10.6.3. I had a weird problem where I had to edit the machine.plist inside nbi to get the s10 drivers to install. afterwards, it runs fine, but i have the backlight problem...

then i follow your instructions and i get panic.. im not deterring much from either guides.

if i delete the appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext, it stays on the loading screen forever. im about to try nullcpupowermanagement.kext, but im not sure. can you upload your appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext for me? sorry ronin510! thanks for all the help so far.

is the 510 in your name stand for your area code? :D

edit: im going to use the kext from my snow leopard install disc and see if that solves anything.. .update in a sec haaaha
