Asus EEE 900, bought it, customized it, love it.

Little white wonder, $330 shipped, less than 2 pounds, really small chassis, 8.9" bright non-glare screen etc. etc. etc.

I am a tweaker so I tweaked this netbook to the best of my abilities. Now it can do everything I want it to do.

S10 will be a second netbook. So my total will be 6 laptps in the house :D

MSI Wind first although I preferred the almost perfect dimensions of the S10 and the bigger hard drive. When I missed out on the Wind that was on sale at the time (error on my part) and the price on the S10 came down by $50 with free tax and shipping to boot (thanks newegg); I jumped on the opportunity. There is no looking back ever since. The S10 is my third laptop and has become my favorite. The HP 1000 was also on my radar it weren't for the high price tag.

I was seriously considering an Acer Aspire. I think what pushed me toward getting the S10 instead was Acer's obsessive use of finger-print prone glossy plastic on the Aspire. Glossy plastic makes stuff look toyish, cheesy, and cheap.

meh... I almost bought a $200ish eee 901 or so. I'm tremendously glad I spotted the S10 when looking around.

I was looking at the mini-9, s10 and Wind, lost interest in the Wind after playing with a few, I was sort of underwhelmed by them, design and build quality wasn't as nice as the mini-9 and s10, though not bad by any means. The mini-9 had a nice solid design (mmmm alloy frame) and being fanless was cool but the small SSD and cost of upgrading it put me off as well as the gloss finish which I was fairly confident would look like turd after a year of use. The S10 was the most professional looking of the lot, was well made and all the important stuff worked under OS X, so I was happy.

I've gone through a couple netbooks before I settled on the S10. My first was the original eeePC 700 4G Surf. I was amazed what the little netbook could do. However, I could not type on it for the life of me. Also, the screen was just a little bit too small. After selling the eeePC, I decided on a Dell Mini 9. I had a corporate discount and got it for a very decent price. The Dell was nicer than the eeePC, and slightly bigger. I didn't really like the glossy back, but decided to keep it.. that is until I found an S10 for $299. I figured I could just sell my Dell Mini and get the S10. I wanted something slightly bigger. The S10 is perfect, as I am typing this from it with no problems. No glossy back, nice wide display. I was able to sell the Dell and pay for the S10, plus a 2gb memory upgrade.

I originally wanted the Acer Aspire One as it was £129. But I went to PC World and had a play with it and I didn't like it. A friend of mine has the Lenovo S10e and reccomended it. Cost me £239 and I don't regret it one bit.

i was really thinking about getting the Samaung NC10. I was really turned on by the 6-cell battery, bluetooth, and larger keyboard.

The reason I went with the Lenovo was because of cost. I bought the 80gb version for $299 vs Samsung @ $449 at newegg. I was able to buy the 2gb of ram, the bluetooth chip and a 6-cell battery on ebay all for about $100, so I still saved money over the Samsung and the only thing that is not equal now is the hard drive (dont care) and keyboard (used to it now). But I have an extra backup battery and OS X is much easier to install on the S10 than the Samsung which was something VERY important to me. The Samsung requires that you replace the wireless card in order for it to work with OSX and that would have been another $30 or so.

I am very happy with the decision that I made, my Lenovo is awesome and the extra battery is awesome for traveling.

I first decided on getting an Acer Aspire One but when i saw a Lenovo for a similar price and the same as MSI Wind which was a lot more expensive i went for this. Best buy of my life.

I had an Acer Aspire One (8.9"/N270/1Gb/160Gb), and have sold it and bought the S10-2 (N280/2Gb/160Gb). I'm pleased with the change. I found 8.9" just a tad too small, and the wide glossy surround (yes it does get scratched very easily!) was beginning to annoy me.
