What was your other choice?

Just looking to see what you would have picked (or did) pick over the Lenovo Netbook and why.

For me, the Acer Aspire One and Wind 6 Cell are my other choices. I will still consider both depending on the shipping/availability fiasco going on right now with the S10. Lenovo also angers me with the games they are playing with information. They obviously put the pre-orders out to stop you from buying other machines that may be available. My biggest holdback on any other netbook was the battery life, screen size, and hard drive size. (in that order)

The Atom is in short supply right now which worries me greatly. Delays are on the horizon. Whats your number 2 and 3?

I tried getting a white Wind, my first choice, for over a month. Then I saw the articles on the S10 and decided I liked it better. I really only have these two as my choices.

The 8.9 inchers are too small for me. The eee PC 1000h looks nice, but it weighs a pound more and costs a great deal more.

I still in fact have the Wind 6 Cell on order. I dont think it will ever come in though. the 1000H is not bad, but is indeed all you said. (heavy, expensive, ugly)
The Acer is one of the best deals around, especially since they just lowered their prices. The 8.9" screen is the only drawback.

After giving up on trying to buy the Wind, I was about to buy an Aspire One. Then, the S10 showed up so I jumped on it. I think the estimated shipping was like 1-3 days....lol.

Who will come out first. This has to be by far the best deal on any netbook. the specs are better than the S10 except the 1" difference in the screen. forget the 6 cell S10, will the 3 cell beat this one out?

double the hard drive and double the battery for $424 not too shabby. im waiting for the 6 cell s10, not even announced yet......

MSI Wind.

If the S10 falls through by the end of the month, I'm going to cancle my order and wait until January or February of '09.

A lot of amazing things are in the pipe, regarding netbooks, and buying in January or February would give me just enough time to use up a full 12 month warranty until decent dual core atom netbooks appear.

My other choice was a white 6 cell MSI Wind before the offer from Lenovo came up. I missed any opportunity to get a Wind. When the slickdeal for the S10 came up I just took the plunge because it looked like a good deal and offered a white S10.

Too bad that the S10s haven't shipped out. If a white 6 cell MSI Wind were available and within the suggested prices (not overcharged), I would be tempted to buy one. However, I think I will wait out for the S10 until Lenovo says that they will never ship out a S10. I figure should that time come, white 6 cell Winds will be more available.
