Which syncing capabilities are you interested in? Is it the media sync?
I'm just curious to see how good a job Palm does with connecting its phone to a desktop OS as compared to Nokia's PC Suite. Doing so between my S10 and E75 is easy, though I've never used the latter as a modem for the former. I just wished it could send/receive faxes for the S10.

The Pre is built with cloud computing in mind. All the syncing is done wirelessly. It seems to favor Google at the time.

what are the combined contacts and combined messaging like?
I'd say it meets my expectations. Few things I don't like about the phone so far are...
- Battery life sucks.
- No SD card slot.
- Can't use the phone while being used to sync media or using it as a USB drive.
- Can't record videos.
- No visual voicemail.
I don't use the combined contacts but if it's anything like the messaging, it should work very well. I use SMS text messaging and AIM and the integration is awesome.
Knowing that this is a first generation, I can only expect it'll get better.
