Skype Webcam fix via shared.xml (bison 3.10)

You don't need any program to load the camera. Mine is working now. Here is the fix:
1) Quit Skype

2) Go to the following file in the finder: "your home folder"/Library/Application Support/Skype/shared.xml

3) In the <lib> element, add:

<Video>
<CaptureHeight>240</CaptureHeight>
<CaptureWidth>320</CaptureWidth>
</Video>

4) Save the file, close Textedit, open Skype

5) Click on the Skype menu, and go to Preferences, then select Audio / Video.

Camera should load after 3 seconds.

Camera is not working by default because is trying to acces it in 640 X 480. Same thing with PhotoBooth, i think.

Go to Applications >> Utilities >> System Profiler and look for USB like the picture attached.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Yes! This camera is not working in higher resolution than 320x240 (you will get a black screen like in photobooth). iChat uses 320x240 and that's why is working. So for those where the camera is working in iChat, but not photobooth and Skype, i can guarantee that will work!

Thanks man! You rock! It works! Just that the built in web cam is a bit laggy though.

Really great effort!

Anybody able to find such a preset for Photobooth?

I've tried this but it hasn't worked and the shared.xml file keeps on reverting back to how it originally was. Exactly on which line of the <Lib> are the lines to be inserted?
