Aloha,

New to the forums and just got the S10 back on Jan. 1st. Upgraded RAM to 2GB and still waiting for an update to up the gfx mem to 224mb. Hope Lenovo ends up letting us tweak it up to that much. Just got my girlfriend the Acer Aspire One and it has the same exact proc and it comes 224mb max gfx out of the box. I'm pretty upset over the fact that it's like that and we can't even tweak our own settings to match it. Don't get me wrong though, I love this little laptop. Awesome screen, just right for everything that I do. I just wish I can game with CS using 224mb!

Is there any potential downside to tweaking the bios in this way? Has anyone experienced any problems after doing so? I'm a bit of a chicken when it comes to messing with the bios so I've been holding off on this. I haven't seen anyone reporting any issues with it though.

hello all, first post. :)

So this explains why, in fact, the Wind has an edge over my lenovo. It is a shame, because this thing, in my opinion, has a much better touch pad, better mouse buttons, and a keyboard that I prefer. It does everything, for the most part, that I ask it to do, but I'd still prefer to have the ability to do what my peers can do with the exact same specifications.

The Wind doesn't have an express card slot.

It just depends what you want out of a netbook. If you want a machine that can play higher end games, I could see how 224MB would be handy, but since netbooks were not built for games, 128MB is more than adequate. Remember, the atom processor combined with integrated graphics is not very powerful. If you want a gaming rig, buy a laptop with discreet graphics.

The S10 was built with productivity in mind. It's the ONLY netbook to include a built in express card slot. This gives Lenovo users much more expandability and functionality. No other netbook has this capability.

lol calm down, calm down. I'm perfectly well aware of that fact, and that is why I bought this. I have a big laptop and am not looking for games, etc. but more video ram will always = smoother applications that involve graphics, and that is never a bad thing. I noticed that is the only point where my netbook chokes is there.

Just because this thing is (and I say that because I am currently on it) is productive, does not mean it can't also take full advantage of it's hardware.

What was the bios tweak that has been deleted, and has anyone done it yet?
